Migros tests a station to refill detergent bottles

After delaying until further notice its plastic collection program that was supposed to start on June 29th in some of its supermarkets in Lucerne, Migros is looking into other ways to reduce plastic waste and invite customers to be part of an active mindset change.

In the branches Marktgasse Bern and Migros Shoppyland Schönbühl, people will now be able to refill four types of detergent, washing-up liquid and washing powder using fully automatized, smart machines that can recognize the containers thanks to their barcodes and refill them with the right product and quantity.

Should the program be successful in these 2 branches, it should be extended further throughout the country. Another "fingers crossed" wish hoping that this is not yet another communications push.
